Your mascot exists as a drawing. A plush is a set of fabric panels.

Why we exist

This category is quoted on fabric and fill and almost never on pattern, which is exactly backwards.

There is a second thing nobody warns you about either: plush fabric has a nap. The pile lies in a direction, and two panels cut with the nap running opposite ways reflect light differently and read as two shades of the same colour. Controlling nap direction across a whole pattern uses more fabric, which is precisely why cheap plush comes out patchy and why nobody mentions it up front.

And a third: fill is a distribution, not an amount. Stuff a toy evenly and the head is the heaviest part of it, so it slumps forward and will not sit up — which is the most common complaint we hear after colour.

What we actually make

Mascot plush patterned from your artwork. Fully embroidered faces, because print cracks on a moving pile and attached parts come off. Weighted and beanbag styles with the fill specified by zone so the toy sits squarely. Jumbo display pieces on a re-drawn large-format pattern with an internal frame where the size needs one. Keychain minis with the character simplified rather than shrunk and the clip anchored into a seam. And plush wearing real garment panels rather than a printed picture of a uniform.

Every one of them has the nap direction controlled across the pattern, and every pattern we cut is held, so next season’s reorder matches this one.

What we do not make

Plush for dogs. Chew-rated seams, squeakers and materials chosen for teeth are a different product built to different standards, and there are people who do nothing else.

Toys with glued or moulded parts on them — plastic eyes, snap-on noses — for anything intended for a young child. We will only embroider.

And we will not scale a small pattern up and call it a jumbo. It comes out faceted and it is not what you are paying for.

Tell us the age group first

It is the first question on our quote form for a reason. A plush intended for a young child is a different build, not just different paperwork — an embroidered face, nothing glued, nothing moulded, no removable clothing, and testing arranged before anything ships.

Finding that out after the pattern is cut is expensive. Finding it out after the run is worse. We would rather ask a slightly dull question at the start.

How we price

No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with the size, the panel count, the amount of embroidery and the quantity, and pattern work on a brand-new character sits at the front of the first order only. On artwork

Send whatever you have — a vector, a style guide, or a photograph of a costume. We will tell you early if a very flat graphic character will not survive the translation into three dimensions, because it is far cheaper to find that out at the pattern stage.

Embroidery has a minimum readable stitch size, so on mini formats the character has to be simplified rather than shrunk. We redraw for the format free and show you the stitch-out.
